Adrian Walley Portway Dental Care 3

Adrian Walley

Dentist
BDS (Lond) 1984
GDC No. 59772

Born in West London, I grew up in Goring-on-Thames and was educated at Goring Primary School, Langtree School Woodcote and King James’ College Henley.

I consider myself very much to be a local!

I studied dentistry at King’s College and King’s College Hospital, London, graduating in 1984. I then held general practice posts in Didcot, Reading, Henley-on-Thames, Sonning Common and Abingdon before joining Portway Dental Care in 1993.

I became a partner here in 2000 and helped negotiate the integration of the practice into Portman Dental Care in 2018, ensuring that we have the resources to continue offering first class dental care well into the future.

I enjoy all aspects of dentistry; there is a lot of variety in general practice, which can be demanding but is also very rewarding.

Outside of dentistry, I enjoy the outdoor life including (but not limited to) competing in Master’s Athletics, walking (I have been trekking in Nepal four times) and cycling. I also enjoy music, theatre and spending time with my family.

I grew up in Malaysia. I read dentistry at Sheffield University, graduating in 2002. My first roles were at Birmingham and Bristol Hospitals before doing my vocational training in the Isle of Lewis, Scotland.

I have been in general practice since 2005 and have spent the majority of those years in Oxfordshire.

I pride myself in providing excellent dental care for all my patients. In February 2017, I completed a Level 1 Postgraduate Certificate in Contemporary Restorative and Aesthetic Dentistry.

Outside of work, I am kept busy with my 2 young children. When I am not occupied with the family, I enjoy reading a good book and going for walks.

Andrew Portway Dental Care

Andrew Fahmy

Dentist
BDS (Cairo University) 2016
GDC No. 288232

Born and grew up in a sunny destination, Egypt. I have completed my degree in Cairo University, and ranked fourth on the class of 2016. Then, moved to UK and did MBA in International Business at Greenwich University. It offered me a great opportunity to explore London with its great diversity.

Throughout the same period I completed the registration as a dentist in UK. My first roles as a General Practitioner were in Southampton and London, always putting patient’s best interest at heart.

I have been a member in Portman team since August 2021. For me dentistry is the art of working with my patients helping them put their best smile forward.

Outside Dentistry, I enjoy outdoor activates including tennis and kayaking. I am always ready for a game of chess.

I also gained postgraduate qualifications MFGDP(UK) in 2001 and a diploma in Prosthodontics at Bristol Open University in 2012.

Wantage Fiona

Fiona Stovold

Dental Hygienist
CEB Cert in Dental Hygiene 1991
GDC No. 4091

I qualified as Dental Hygienist from the Liverpool Dental School of Oral Hygiene in September 1991: having been a qualified Dental Nurse for 10 years. I am a member of the British Society for Dental Hygiene and Therapy and was secretary for the London Group and Chair for the Thames Valley Group of the society. I am also a member of the British Society of Periodontology and enjoy attending the meetings and conferences of both societies as this keeps me up to date with the latest techniques and current thinking. I love nothing more than helping my patients maintain a healthy mouth, offering advice on brushing, interdental cleaning and performing a 'scale and polish' I can also help with maintenance of implants.

Away from work, I am a Beaver Scout Leader with a local group and an active member of the District Leader team. When not scouting I like to get my walking boots on and get out into the countryside. I have completed walking the Thames Path and the Wychwood Way. I am looking to walk another National Trail and to complete the Oxfordshire Way. I also enjoy cooking, sailing, canal boating and reading. But, most importantly spending time with my husband, son and daughter and with our Labrador, Jasper.

Elenor Morgan Portway Dental Care 4

Elenor Morgan (Ella)

Dental Hygienist
Diploma in Dental Hygiene 196
GDC no. 4134

After qualifying as a dental surgery assistant, I went on to study at Guy's Dental Hospital London and graduated as a Dental Hygienist in 1991. I was given the 'Hu-Friedy' best student Hygienist award for that year.

I'm based mainly in and around the Cotswolds with over 30 years experience. I have also worked in a specialised periodontal practice in Southampton. I'm a member of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy and also the British Society of Periodontology.

I'm good at helping motivate patients to achieve their optimum oral hygiene with kind gentle encouragement. With so much evidence available now to support direct links to how inflammation in the oral cavity effects our general health, it has never been more important to have a clean and healthy mouth.

I enjoy keeping fit and healthy myself and love walking, cycling, nature, film and music.

Angela

Head Nurse
Qual- National Certificate NEBDSA 1990
GDC No. 129887

I began working in dentistry at an Oxford Practice where I stayed for 16 years. During this time I gained my National Certificate for Dental Surgery Assistants. In 1997 I joined Portway and have been very happy here for the last 21 years. I enjoy listening to music and playing along to Radio 2's Popmaster. My lively dog Ziggy keeps me busy and whilst we are out walking together I love looking at the joys of nature.

Emma

Dental Nurse
Qual- National Certificate NEBDN 2000
GDC No. 250808

I first started dental nursing in 1996 and qualified with merit in May 2000 at Bristol Dental Hospital. I joined Portway in 2014 and thoroughly enjoy working with Peter Brodie, doing my best to keep him running to time ( although not always very successfully!) I have lived on a farm all my life and enjoy nothing more than a long countryside walk when I’m not running around after my 3 boys. My weekend are usually spent either watching my boys play football or cricket and during the football season, on match days you will find me at the Country Ground watching Swindon Town.
